Seaford U17's, this season playing in an U18's league, unbelievably threw away a 4 goal lead to only draw against Eastbourne Borough in an incredible game at Walmer Road last Sunday. Seaford took the lead after 6 minutes, when a deep cross from Alec Cowley found Mark Sapwell, who finished well. The lead was extended after 25 minutes when a superb passing move ended with new signing Charlie Conrath firing home from a Mark Sapwell cross. Shortly before half time a Kris Flynn-Hutt corner was met with a glancing header from Matt Broad for 3-0. That was the best 45 minutes that the lads have played but in the second half they were dancing to a different tune. They were overrun in midfield, resorted to the long ball and were slow to get back. However, in the 65th minute, against the run of play, a ball over the top from Charlie Conrath found Mike Bracuti who shrugged off the defenders and slotted home to make it 4-0. The final quarter was surreal - Eastbourne pulled one back after 69 minutes, Mark Sapwell hit the bar, Mike Bracuti and Matt Broad were denied by great goal keeping, and Eastbourne took advantage of poor defending and a calamitous loss of shape and belief to rattle in 3 more goals, the equaliser coming in the 85th minute. Manager's MOTM was Charlie Conrath
