Seaford U17's, battled hard in atrocious conditions but were beaten 1-0 by Peacehaven at The Crouch last Sunday.
Town, with the strong wind and driving rain against them, were pinned back into their own half for much of the first period and, on the rare occasion they threatened, their final ball let them down.
Peacehaven had taken the lead with an unchallenged header from a corner after 25 minutes and were denied a second by a good save from Lew Broad.
The conditions got even worse in the second half, which the visitors started strongly, hitting the post and a fine shot being deflected over the bar by a defender, then Town started to come back into the game but couldn't take advantage of some promising dead ball situations or force the ball home in any of several penalty area scrambles.
Peacehaven were largely restricted to long range pot shots that mostly flew high and wide but Lew Broad needed to make a fine save as the ball skidded off the now soggy turf.
Seaford were celebrating a Matt Broad equalizer in the 78th minute before noticing, the assistant had flagged for an offside earlier in the build-up.
Peacehaven had a couple of good opportunities to extend their lead before the final whistle but sliced the best chance of the game horribly wide and Lew Broad pulled off another good save. Manager's MOTM was Lew Broad.
