Seaford U17's, this season playing in an U18's league, battled hard but were beaten 3-1 away at Mile Oak last Sunday.
The home side took the lead in the 13th minute with a tap-in after a flowing passing move down the right but Seaford were back in the game after 35 minutes when a powerful Mike Bracuti shot was parried by the goalkeeper and Mark Cooper swept in the loose ball.
The rest of the first half was end to end with neither side able to make the most of promising situations, Lew Broad making a good save just before half time to keep the scores level.
Seaford were pegged back at the start of the second half and Mile Oak took the lead in the 52nd minute with a penalty following a trip in the box. Town then had their best spell of the match, stringing some fine passes together and Mark Cooper and Mike Bracuti both had shots well saved. However, Mile Oak were also playing some good football and extended their lead in the 79th minute with an unstoppable shot.
Seaford kept battling but let themselves down in the final third with some wayward shooting and the final score remained at 3-1.
